Stack limits per category
materials and seeds stack to 99 and food to 20 out of the box, with smaller raises for meds, fuel, fertilizer and other everyday items. Every category can be changed in the config, up to 999.

Most seeds and food take one bag slot each, so storage fills up fast. Stacking raises the stack limit per item category without letting a fresh meal merge into a rotting one, and lets you split stacks with a key held.

food only stacks with food of the same freshness, so nothing old sneaks into a fresh stack.
seeds, fuel, materials and anything else without a shelf life join a stack of their own kind no matter when you picked them up, or whether you found them on the map.
a stack of three strawberries makes three smoothies, the same as three loose ones.
moving a stack into a cooking or crafting station puts in one item, and the rest stays where it was.
a recipe that needs two glass can be made from a stack of eight, and the fill button and batch crafting take single items off the stack.

hold Shift to move half a stack, Ctrl to move one, or Ctrl+Shift to choose how many.
the same keys with a right-click split the part off onto the nearest free spot.
in the merchant's trade window, the same keys with a drag onto the drone or a right-click offer only that part, and the same from the drone back to your bag takes only that part back. A split drag inside the drone or your bag works too. A right-click or Shift left-click on your side offers one item at a time. Dropping a stack on a stack of the same item joins them, in your bag or on the drone.
a quick-move click on a stack in a material rack or storage tab of these windows puts in one item.
in any window, from the bag to the merchant's trade window. In the bag, Ctrl-click still uses an item at once where the game allows it.
dishes never stack, since each one holds its own servings, and tools whose uses run out are left alone. Reusable items you use directly, such as dyes, keep their limit too; reusable materials such as wire stack.
BepInEx\config\com.dev.survivallog.stacking.cfgChange them on the Mod Manager's Mods screen, or edit the file with the game closed.[Cooking]A cook that was started with this on and finishes after you turn it off is settled the game's way: that one cook takes only one item from each stack, so its extra dishes come free.
false counts a stack as one ingredient, as in the base game.[Splitting]Turning splitting off does not change the station rule: a stack moved into a cooking or crafting station still puts in one item. Nor does it bring back the item details on a Ctrl-click: that stays off either way.
false makes drags and right-clicks work as in the base game.[StackLimits]Each setting is the most items of one item category in one stack. The setting names are the game's own category names; the second column is the name the game shows.
Each takes a whole number from 0 to 999; a bigger number counts as 999 and a negative one as 0. 0, or any number at or below the game's own limit, keeps the game's limit: a setting only ever raises a limit, it never lowers one. Dishes a cooking recipe can make, and items with more than one use that runs out, always keep the game's limit. Reusable items you use directly, such as dyes, a comb or dumbbells, keep the game's limit too, because the game would take one from the stack each time you use one. Reusable materials such as wire and iron rods stack like any other.
For items the game never stacked (most food, for example), only items with the same freshness left (within an hour) and the same uses share a stack. Items that never spoil, such as seeds, fuel and materials, share a stack whenever their uses match, no matter when they were picked up, and items found on the map share a stack with ones you made or bought.

split onto the nearest free spot. With two bags open, Ctrl and Ctrl + Shift right-click stay the game's own "send every item of this kind".
never opens the item details. In the bag it is still the game's quick use.
The mod adds no data of its own to your save and does not edit game files, but the stacks and moves it makes are real items in your bags and storages. You can remove it at any time; stacks already bigger than the game's limit stay as they are.

To change the stack limit of any item category, or turn off the cooking count or splitting, edit BepInEx\config\com.dev.survivallog.stacking.cfg while the game is closed, or do it in game on the Mod Manager's Mods screen, where changes take effect at once (see CONFIG.md for every setting; the cfg file explains each setting in English and Chinese). Cooking CountWholeStacks and Splitting Enabled take effect at the next game start. Without Exiled's Toolkit installed, changes made on the Mods screen take effect at the next game start instead.
