A folded sheet is taped to the back of this GR-3 prototype, titled "Core Chip · In-House Trial Production Log". Each row is a batch: how much material went in, how many chips were made, how many actually worked.

What you thinkIn the first dozen or so rows, the "Good" column is almost all zeros, and the remarks get messier row by row. The last row lists the final materials: three Integrated Circuits and two sheets of Tempered Glass. Its Good cell reads 1, and the remarks say: "Process finalized. Sample installed in this prototype. Do not remove."
