Some were missing person notices, others were messages, and a few were written to people who were no longer there: "Dad, everything's fine at home, don't worry." "Waiting for you to come back and eat my cooking." "I'm sorry I shouldn't have left that day." Among them was one written with particularly forceful strokes, as if someone had been asking questions while writing: "I asked the doctor how exactly he got infected. The doctor couldn't say for sure, just told me not to get too close. Then I asked what that room upstairs that's always locked is for. He didn't answer me."
