What happens

The recorder stitches the four restored pieces together, and the timeline lines up. You go over everything you've pieced together these past days once more. They developed a drug that was supposed to cure illness, injecting it into lab animals for live testing. The drug was harmless to humans; touching it or being exposed to it did nothing. The real problem was the injected animals: they went rabid and started attacking and biting. The people they bit got infected and became like the ones outside now. The animals wrecked the facility, got out, and carried all of this through the entire city, one bite at a time. It wasn't a natural disaster, and no one meant for it to happen. It was just an attempt to save lives that spiraled completely out of control. No one out there knows any of this yet. It can be published from the recorder. But a few pages alone may not convince anyone out there. The records say it all started with those injected animals. If they are mixed in with the hordes outside, sooner or later you will see them with your own eyes.
